Thomas X Smith, III, age 85, died Monday, February 22, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born September 21, 1930 in Rexburg, Idaho to Thomas X and Arvella Allen Smith. On December 30, 1952 he married Katherine Marcella “Kathy” Rodarte in the Idaho Falls Temple. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2007.
Tom grew up in Rexburg, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After he married Kathy, they lived in many areas of the West, before retiring to Logandale, Nevada in 1995. Always active in the church, Tom enjoyed serving as a Temple Ordinance Worker.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters: Linda Joy (David) King of Sweet Home, OR; Terry Ann (Tim) Clark of Alpine, UT; Thomas X IV (Julie) of Logandale, NV; Robert Bret “Bubba” (Wendy) of Mesquite, NV; Dennis Bart (Stacy of Gilbert, AZ Michael Allen (Judith) of Spanaway, WA; Cynthia Gayle “Cindy” (Dan) Harris of Mesa, AZ; 39 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Logandale Cemetery.
