BEDARD, AUBIN F. "BUD" 95 - of Little Egg Harbor, NJ died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center after a brief illness. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Irene E. Bowers. Aubin was the son of Marius and Bernadette (Courtemanche) Bedard.

Aubin grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts, "up the Flint", in a French Canadian community and began work at age eight delivering meals to the workers in the local textile mills. He loved music. He played the piano, clarinet and saxophone. He organized his own band under the name Buddy Nolan and his Orchestra. He would be called Bud for the rest of his life. The band played local hot spots in Providence, New Hampshire and at Lincoln Park. Bud married Irene Bowers and shortly after entered World War II in the Army Air Force, 5th Division. He spent three years in the Pacific arena, mostly in the Philippines. He was in charge of construction of the Clark Air Force Base.

Post war, Bud founded Bedard Construction Company. Some examples of his work are Westgate Lanes, Brockton, Ma. over 30 stores for Anderson Little, St. Anne's Credit Union, Fall River, Ma. the Post Office in Hixbridge and the many renovations that transformed Venus d'Milo from a bowling alley into a restaurant and banquet facility. Bud was the contractor for George Hodash Associates and a past President of the Fall River Exchange Club.

Bud enjoyed music, airplanes and fine carpentry. In his final years, he moved to New Jersey and was cared for by his grandson.

He was the brother of the late Estelle Christie, Georgette Robillard, Jeanne Bedard, Maurice Bedard, Pauline Bouchard and Evelyn Buzdula. Survivors include his sister, Germaine Deschenes of Olive Hill, Ky; two sons, James A. Bedard (Laura)of Cape Coral, Fla., and Daniel A. Bedard (Sharon) of Lilburn, Ga.; a daughter, Deborah E. Blackburn (James) of Tuckerton, N.J.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Wood Funeral Home, 134 E. Main Street, Tuckerton, NJ is handling the arrangements.
