Joan C. Jones, 79 of Girard, formerly of Hillsboro, died Saturday March 19, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Following cremation, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday March 25, at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Virden with memorial services at 7 p.m. with Chaplin Terry Link officiating.
A private family burial of ashes will be at Holy Cross Cemetery Litchfield.
Ms. Jones was born April 20, 1936, in Raymond, a daughter to the late Daniel and Mary (Graham) Morgan.
She formerly worked at the Springfield Clinic in Springfield and was an avid seamstress and gardener.
Ms. Jones is survived by her daughter, Brenda T. (Mike) Samonds of Glenarm; three sons, Raymond E. "Gene" (Sue) Tuggle II of Irving, Edward D. (Cyndi) Tuggle of Trenton and Gregory M. Tuggle of Hillsboro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Blanca) Morgan of Amarillo, TX, and William (Mary) Morgan of Litchfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Bob Morgan.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Village (Memory Care Lane) or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
