Lois Webb Nixon, in her own words: "Farmer, journalist, Unity minister, chiropractor; part-time poet, painter, music aficionado. Mostly retired." Lois was born July 10, 1929 in Brumley, Missouri to Lucian and Clare Mace; she passed peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016.

Lois's life was distinguished by a devotion to education, ministering to and healing others, and service to her community. Lois graduated from Tuscumbia High School and went on to receive degrees from KC Business College, Cleveland Chiropractic College, Unity School of Ministerial & Religious Studies, and the University of Kansas Graduate School. Lois's first job out of college was with 20th Century Fox on Film Row in Kansas City.

She followed that with an active chiropractic career in Stilwell, Kansas. She was the first woman chiropractor admitted in the state of Kansas. Upon retirement from chiropractic she began a worldwide ministry for Unity. She served in Florida, New York, West Virginia, Montana, California, New Mexico, England, Canada, Australia, and others.

She also served as editor of Wee Wisdom Magazine and as minister at Silent Unity. Lois was active in the community and in politics, and with the DAR, Overland Park Historical Society, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Academy, along with helping to found the Aubry Township Zoning Board and the area's Rural Water District.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lee Mace, sister, Sue Wyrick, daughter, Mary, first husband, Charles Webb, and second husband, Jack Nixon.

She is survived by her son, David Webb (Wendy), grandchildren, Macey Webb and Matt Webb (Elizabeth), great grandchildren, Ellie and Jack Webb, nephew, Mike Wyrick (Felicia), companion and friend Kristi Cannon.

During Lois's years on earth she sought to live to the highest potential good and happiness, and to bring that to her family and friends with her interest in sculpture, theatre, music, wellness, and world culture and religion.

A celebration of her life will be held graveside Friday, 1:00p.m., Aubry Cemetery, Stilwell, Ks., followed by a reception at the Stilwell Methodist Church fellowship hall. Cremation. In lieu of flowers please embrace your loved ones, and/or make a donation in Lois's name to the charity of your choice .
