Pvt. Philip Y. Adams, 25 141 Sandy Point Ave. Somerset MA, was killed in action in Germany on Mar 27, the War department advised his wife. He had been overseas less than a month.

Inducted into the service June 23,1944. Pvt. Adams served first with an Ordnance unit at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. In December he was transferred to the Infantry and trained at Camp Gordon Ga, and Fort George G. Mead Md before going overseas. Prior to his induction he was employed in the retread department of the Firestone Rubber and Latex Products Company.

In addition to his wife, Pvt. Adams leaves a one-year old son, Philip Y. Adams Jr. , his father Clarence W. Adams, Elm Street Dighton, four brothers , Sgt Charles L. USAAF in England; Luther, Dighton; Russell, North Dighton and Waldo, Malden and one sister, Mrs William ( Alice) Murray, this city.

Burial is in Unitarian Church Cemetery Dighton MA.
