Bessie Adkins
AMANDA: Bessie L. Adkins, 82 of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday March 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Branchland, WV on July 26, 1933 to the late Elijah and Minnie Bell (Tooley) Adkins. Bessie was a member of Circleville Church of Christ and retired from the Techniglass Company in Columbus.
She is survived by her children, Bernard (Judi) Adkins of Amanda. Kevin Adkins of Columbus and Minnett (Richard) Steele of Chillicothe. Granddaughters Carla (Blaine) Craft of South Korea, Brandy Adkins and Terra Adkins both of Amanda, great granddaughters Aysha Craft and Avery Adkins; step-grandchildren Richard Bryant of California, Richelle (Travis) Fair of Leesburg and Jason (Amber Stevens) Steele of Chillicothe; sisters Alpha Childers of East Fulltonham, Corine Brafford of Burlington, Maxine Adkins of Lancaster, Kate (Haskell) Mills of Logan, WV and Joan Watson of Liberty Center; 11 step-great grandchildren; one step-great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Forest Adkins, granddaughter Heidi Jo Adkins; daughter in law Sheila Adkins, five sisters and three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastors Jimmy Carter and Jack Abels officiating. Burial to follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the funeral home.
