Emerette R "Emma" Currey was a daughter of Charles Dean Currey and Catherine Elizabeth (nee Stevens) Currey. She married John William Lang, Jr., son of John William Lang, Sr. and Katharina M (nee Sheater) Lang. Emerette married second Robert "Bert" Millikin Braidwood, a son of Alexander Braidwood and Mary (nee Millikin) Braidwood.

Obituary from Lapeer County Press 01 Jan 1941:

"Mrs. Emma Lang Braidwood died of a heart aliment Monday night Dec 23, at 10:30 just after retiring for the night.

She was born in Unionville, Aug 23 1870 the daughter of Charles and Catherine Currey. She was married to John Lang Jan 1, 1890, to which union three children were born Earl, who died at six months Grace Lang Miller in 1920 and Pearl Millikin. Mr. Lang died Feb. 3, 1936. She had resided in Dryden 36 years.

Surviving are her husband R. M. Braidwood, whom she married March 16, 1939; her daughter, Pearl Millikin of Almont and a step daughter Mrs. Alice Beatenhead of Unionville; also a sister Mrs. Carrie Taubert of Flint; two brothers Kelsey Currey of Unionville; Oliver Currey of Twining; three grand children and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from the residence on Liberty street. Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock Rev. Fred Hart of Detroit officiated and burial was in Dryden Cemetery.
