On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 16, 2016, Lucile Marie (Luiten) Iverson departed this life and joined her parents, George and Elizabeth Luiten, brother, Wilmar Luiten, husband, Earl William (Bill) Iverson, daughter, Judith Ann Iverson, and great-grandaughter, Elizabeth Ann-Marie Iverson. Lucile was born at Lamona WA April 15, 1926 on the farm homesteaded by her grandmother, Anna (Bongard) Luiten, and her father, George. She was baptized in June 1926 and confirmed at Zion Lutheran church at Lamona, WA.

She attended country schools near Downs and in Lamona before transferring to Odessa in 6th grade, where she graduated from high school in 1943. After graduation, Lucile stayed on the family farm to help her Dad care for her Mother, who had terminal cancer and died in 1944. Lucile married her high school sweetheart, Earl William (Bill) Iverson, on May 5th, 1945. Bill, still in the navy, was then stationed at Pasco, WA and Lucile worked at Ships Service as a waitress and later at the army base as a clerk-typist. After Bill was honorably discharged February 23, 1946, they lived in Pasco for awhile before moving to Wilbur where Bill worked as a welder and mechanic. In the fall of 1948 they relocated to Lamona to farm the homestead. To this union were born three sons and two daughters. The acreage was small so, to increase production, they went into irrigation in early 1967. They enjoyed many beautiful sunrises and chats with our Lord during the early morning pipe changing times. There was a lot of work so it was good thing Bill and Lucile enjoyed working together. Lucile was a substitute school bus driver for Bill for 17 years and also a substitute cook in the school kitchen between bus runs. They also took time for the fun side of life. They enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and water skiing when the kids were growing up and spent many happy times at Lake Roosevelt, Billy Clapp Lake, Potholes Resevoir, Twin, Deer, Banks and Curlew Lakes.

Lucile was a life-long member of Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran church, active in choir, Lutheran Womens Missionary League, and taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday school. She sang with the Odessa Community Choir for special Christmas and Easter programs and for Deutchestfest services.

After Bill's health failed in 1982 Lucile kept on working on the farm for another year or so with the help of her sons - changing pipes and driving tractor, harvester and truck along with all the other necessary jobs. In 1984 Bill and Lucile wintered in the south then in 1985 they decided to join the ranks of full time RV'ers. They really enjoyed the lifestyle and met so many wonderful people. They also kept busy, with Lucile on the keyboard and Bill on the saxaphone, as the "Ivy Tones", playing music and singing the golden oldies and sacred songs at convalescent and retirement homes, senior centers, campgrounds, and rallies and the Lincoln County Fair. What a privilege it was to be a witness for the Lord at these times. Every winter Lucile played for the worship services and they also did special numbers at St. John's Lutheran Church in Long Beach, WA. They belonged to the Holiday Rambler Trailer Club and both held offices, hosted rallies, and led the worship services at club gatherings. They were often joined by various grandchildren on their trips. The grandchildren really enjoyed these trips. Lucile also enjoyed crafts, crocheting and reading.

Bill and Lucile celebrated their 50th anniversary in May of 1995. They enjoyed the RV lifestyle until Bill's death in December, 1995. Lucile then moved back to Odessa to be nearer to more of her family. Lucile especially enjoyed her 80th birthday with a party attended by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. She also enjoyed the family reunion in September 2009, getting to see the newest two great granddaughters and all but two of her entire family! Through their marriage, Lucile was blessed with 5 children, 11 granddchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by:
Son David and Sharon (Smith) Iverson: Taunya and Mike Van Pevenage (Connor, Peyton, and Chase), Rebecca (Becky) and Colin Guhlke (Palmer and Alexia (Lexi)), Alyson and Travis Williams (Alizabeth (Lizzie) and Jessie), Brenik and Kami (Arlt) Iverson (Holden, Leah, and Aubrey); daughter Sandra (Sandy) and Jim Zinglemann: Nicole and Chris Greely (Eleanor (Nell), Jett, Naomi, and Banks), Peter Zinglemann, and Auna Zinglemann; son Larry and Claudia (Wraspir) Iverson: Todd and Victoria (Vickie) (Thomas) Iverson (Alyssa and Austin); and son Norman Iverson: Dawn and Dan Freeman (Hannah, Rachel, Jonah, and Abigail), Robert and Angela (Freese) Iverson: (Bethany, Charles, and Michael), Sonja Iverson: (Anne Marie).
