Author, Psychiatrist. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and later from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After service in Vietnam as a Regimental Surgeon, he continued training in child and adult psychiatry at Johns Hopkins. He was the Chief of Psychiatry for a large medical group for 34 years as well as being a part-time Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins. He was the author of six books. Most notably was the best-selling book, Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart: Thirty True Things You Need to Know Now. He was also a contributor to numerous publications to include the Reader's Digest, the San Francisco Examiner, the Washington Post, and the Baltimore Sun.
