Eva Rae Bowman of Broadway died May 10, 2006, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 15, 1939, and was a daughter of the late Haller M. and Rachel Anna Grim Bowman of Timberville. She grew up in the family home and later lived at Pleasant View Home in Broadway.

Eva enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and attending summer camp. She loved animals, especially cats and adopted and nurtured many over the years. She also loved music and enjoyed singing in the choirs at several local churches.

She was employed part-time at Red Lobster and at a gift shop in Harrisonburg. She enjoyed life at Pleasant View with her circle of friends there and in the community. The family commends and thanks the administration and staff at Pleasant View for their love, care, and support.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Dickie, Doris, Bruce, and John Bowman, and Bess Munns.

She is survived by Marie Adams of Longmont, Colo.; Don Bowman of Pensacola, Fla., Fred Bowman of Timberville, Anna Claire Dollins of Alexandria, Va.; Linda Lee of Whittier, Calif., Roberta Turner of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Noel Bowman of Mount Jackson; and her stepmother, Minnie Bowman, of Timberville.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant View Day Support Services Building, 151 Commerce Drive, Harrisonburg, Va. Officiating will be David Gullman.

The body was cremated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Troyer Dental Fund, c/o Pleasant View Home.

Arrangements are by Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
