An Old Citizen Dead
At 6 o'clock yesterday morning Mr Abram Hoagland, on of the pioneers of this section, died at the residence of Mr Frank Harrison, his son in law, at corner of Harriet and Illinois streets. His death was occasioned by old age. Mr Hoagland was born in Muhlenberg county, Ky, August 11th, 1808. At the age of 19 his father migrated to this State and settled in Warrick county, where he resided until a few years ago, when he came in this city to live with his daughter. When Mr Hoagland first moved to Warrick county the site of Evansville had not been chosen. The remains will be taken to Boonville this morning for interment. - Evansville Journal 6

I was there during the Gov't shutdown between October 1st and 16th, 2013.... I had trouble getting the sexton to show me where his marker was. The sexton, now deceased, was a hoarder. Papers, maps and materials were all over in his tiny office near the W Maple Grove Road. As of this date 10/10/2016, no marker of his has been found.
