Robert L. Cooley, 77, of Virginia Beach, passed away May 13, 2004, in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of New York, he was the son of the late Leland and Jane Cooley. He was a recently retired realtor in the Virginia Beach resort area. He was a U.S. Navy Submarine veteran of WWII serving as a radioman aboard the USS MINGO, USS BASHAW and the USS CAPITAINE in the Asiatic Pacific. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Ruth Cooley and his son, Robert Michael Cooley. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Bower and her husband William of White Stone, VA; a son, Mark Cooley of Virginia Beach, VA; four granddaughters, Laura Leigh Jones, Heather Sowers, Alexandra Cooley and Victoria Cooley; and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
