Marilyn M. Bishop, age 86, of Cobb, died on Saturday evening November 20, 2010 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. She was born on December 14, 1923 in Montfort, the daughter of Charleton and Hazel (Kirkpatrick) Biddick. She graduated as valedictorian from Montfort High School and then attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison. While in high school she was active in cheerleading, speech, and music. Marilyn married Charles Royce Bishop on December 23, 1944. They lived in various locations throughout the country as Royce finished his military service. They moved back to a farm near Cobb in 1948. They made their home on the farm and raised a family. Marilyn enjoyed following the activities of her children and grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Iowa-Grant Panthers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed her Christmas "spectaculars" year after year. In her later years, Marilyn enjoyed traveling throughout the country by Amtrak and plane to visit her children.

Marilyn is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her brother, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Royce on January 10, 1993; and her sisters-in-law, Leona Biddick and Jean Smith.
