Billie Don Bishop, 59, of American Fork, died ; Monday, Nov. 14, 1983, at American Fork Hospital. He was born May 3, ' 1924, in Sunnyside to ' Don P. and Esther Jensen Bishop. He was married and later divorced. He then married Arlene Johnson, July 20, 1957, in Elko, Nev. He was a veteran of World War II and received the bronze star and two purple hearts. He was a member of the Eagles Aries 67 in Salt Lake City. He was a coalminer and a heavy-du- t mechanic. Survivors include his wife of American Fork; two sons and eight daughters: Mrs. Tom (Linda) Richards and Mrs. Dwayne (Karen) Prettyman, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kenneth (Gwen) Calahan of Helper; Mrs. Lyle (Carol) Jones of Price; Mrs. Shauna Staff, Mrs. Bruce (Brenda) Wanlass, and Michael Bishop, all of American Fork; Billy Don Bishop, Jr. of Lindon; Mrs. Steve (Ranae) LaBrun of Orem; Mrs. Lorie Evans of Pleasant Grove; 10 grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: Ray Bishop of American Fork; Melvin Dean Bishop of California ; Mrs. Ray (Selma) Wilding of Orem; Mrs. Norma Harper of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Jay G. (Elaine) Bird of Provo. Services were Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E. 100 N. American Fork. Graveside military services were conducted by VFW District 4 in the American Fork Cemetery.
