Mr. Jeffrey Scott Orme, age 59, of Douglasville, Ga., passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009, at his home, six months after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He was born Oct. 6, 1949, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to the late H.J. and Beth Orme. Scott was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of the Douglas County Chamber Singers, an Eagle Scout and served in the United States Army. He studied psychology at Utah State University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1973 and his master's degree in 1978.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife Vickie; four daughters, Camille Orme of New York City and Lisa Anderson, Heather Nutter and Melissa Orme of Douglasville, Ga.; three sons, David Orme of Atlanta, Ga., Jeffrey Orme of Carrollton, Ga., and Ryan Orme of Douglasville, Ga.; sister Cheryl Orme of Ogden, Utah; brother Terry Orme of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Clara Trevino, Rowan Trevino and Jack Anderson; and three sons-in-law, Marc Trevino, Jeremy Anderson and Matt Nutter.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 7 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3027 Chapel Hill Road, Douglasville, with Bishop Sherman Moore officiating. A gathering of friends will occur from 5:30 p.m. until the service hour.
