NEW MARKET – A funeral for Melvin Elmer Howard, 59, Rt. 1, New Market, who died in Medical Center Hospital Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Concord Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Campbell and the Rev. Ward Gateley officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery with Laughlin-Service Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josie Lanford Howard; four sons, James I. Howard, Huntsville, Roy Gene Howard, Hazel Green, Dale Howard, New Market, and Wayne Howard, Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Britton, New Market, and Mrs. Betty McElyea, Huntsville; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Bates and Mrs. Ruth Anzovina, both of Hazel Green, Mrs. Margaret Lasater, Toney, and Mrs. Helen Quick, Flintville, Tenn.; three brothers, Marvin O. Howard, Huntsville, Zolen McCollum, Hazel Green, and John McCollum, New Market; 13 grandchildren.
The body will be at the funeral home until one hour before the funeral.
