WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Betty Garnetta Kidd Woodard (91) went to her heavenly home on March 17, 2016. Born March 16, 1925 to Charles M and Annie Roland Kidd, Garnetta made her home in Pocahontas, Virginia with her beloved husband Harold Eugene Woodard. Over the past several years she resided in Winter Haven, FL.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons Hubert "Gene" Woodard and David Ray Woodard, grandchildren Charles "Bud" Clyburn, Cherri Darlene Miller and Franklin Elwood Miller Jr., siblings Ivan Ray Kidd, Charles Mason Kidd, Rita Kidd, Marie Keatley, Lois White and son-in-law David Poseno.

She is survived by daughters Carolyn Sue Warburton (Allen) of Lake Wales, FL, Wanda Faye Money (Harold Bowman) of Springville, VA and Betty Garnetta Poseno of Boissevain, VA. Eleven grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, daughters-in-law Linda Popp Woodard and Patricia Woodard Synan. She is also survived by her beloved sister and travel/adventure companion Alice "Shirley" Settle (Don) of Mt. Airy, MD.

Mrs. Woodard owned and operated several businesses with her husband for many years, notably Pic-N-Save Supermarket in Pocahontas and Harold's Market in Anawalt. She was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church, a winter member of Waverly Baptist Church (Waverly, FL) and Princess Pocahontas Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. From all of those she is survived by innumerable lifelong friends.

She was a talented artist, loved to read, craft and garden, but above all she loved her Lord and her family.

The family will receive friends at the Rodriguez Pocahontas Funeral Home on Monday, March 21 from 6-8 PM.

The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Harry Cundiff on Tuesday, 11:00 AM, at the Pocahontas Baptist Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
