David Lincycomb, 65, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007.

Graveside celebration of life services will be at 3 p.m. today in Kirkland Cemetery in Kirkland, with his uncle, the Rev. Tommy Sims, pastor of West Hills Community Church in Childress, officiating.

David was born May, 27, 1942, in Childress and raised in Shamrock. He moved to Amarillo in 1965, after serving his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. While residing in Amarillo, David worked for Shook Tire Co., and also did general labor for several construction businesses. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Horseshoe Club pool team, and Buchanan Street Baptist Church. He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed word puzzles, fishing and spending time with his family. David had a very compassionate heart, and was willing to do anything for anyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors left to cherish his memories include a daughter, Melody of Amarillo; two brothers, Larry and Jesse Lincycomb, both of Howardwick; two sisters, Laveta Miller and Evalyn Riddle, both of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Frankie Lincycomb of Amarillo; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
