Floyd Hale "Buddy" Haney slipped from this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, to join his beloved Elsie in eternal peace and rest.

He was the son of the late Claude C. and Clara Eliza Hale Haney. His wife, Elsie, died on January 13, 2001, after 63 years of marriage and togetherness. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorena Collins of West Virginia; and a special sister-in-law, Muriel Haney. Buddy was a veteran of World War II and served in Italy. He was a past member of the V.F.W. Survivors include a loving brother, Melton Haney of Greene County; two daughters, Betty Norman and her husband, Paul, and Gloria Fletcher and her husband, Don; five grandchildren, Greg Norman and his wife, Marybeth of Dothan, Alabama, Susan Glass and her husband, Chris, of Garfield, Arkansas, Beth Huckstep and her husband, Keith, of Scottsville, Donna Blincoe and her husband Marc, of northern Virginia, and Keith Fletcher and his wife Sophie of Houston, Texas; and ten great grandchildren: Allison Huckstep Hoover and her husband Rowdy, Kadee Huckstep, Garrett Blincoe, Gretchen Blincoe, Harrison Fletcher, Hattie Fletcher, Christian Glass, William Glass, Meredith Norman, and Andrew Norman. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Cherry Avenue Christian Church. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Cherry Avenue Christian Church with Mr. Scott Carter officiating. Interment with military honors will be held 2 p.m. at Monticello Memory Gardens.
