Gerald H. Barbillon Sr., 75, of Effort, died Wednesday, March 30, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Kerins) Barbillon. They had been married 51 years. Gerald was born in New York City, N.Y., on March 18, 1930. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert. He was a bus driver for the NYC Transit Authority, retiring in 1990. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from May 10, 1951 until April 22, 1953. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Joseph Barbillon of Effort, Mary Miller and her husband, Henry, of Effort, and Gerald Barbillon Jr. of Aurora, Colo.; one sister, Lillian Vitaglione of Bronx, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Gerald Barbillon III, Ryan Miller, Jon-Paul Miller, Chelsea Miller, and Lee Miller; three great-grandchildren, Kaeli Miller, Brandon Miller, and Victoria Miller. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, at Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert. The Rev. Father William J. McCawley will serve as celebrant. Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery, Annville. Viewing will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 3, and 9 a.m. until time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association, Northeast Region, 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017; or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, attn.: J.B.S.-Michigan Chapter, 1421 E. 12 Mile Road A, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
