Foley - Math Jackels, a resident of Foley, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in St. Cloud.
Born on February 9, 1872 at Hilbert, Wisconsin, Mr. Jackels came to Benton county in 1892 where he spent the remainder of his life.
On November 26, 1895 at the St. Lawrence church in Duelm he was married to Johanna Maybury and farmed in Benton county until six years ago when he came to Foley to make his home with his son, George.
Mrs. Jackels preceded him in death on December 16, 1939. A son, Bernard, died in 1927. Ten children survive: John, Foley; Mrs. Henry Wenner (Mary), St Cloud; George and Henry, Foley; Albert, Saux Rapids; and Mrs. Albert Vizenor (Alma), Mrs. Roy Herbst (Loretta), Leo, Wilfred and Mrs. Donald Latterell (Luella), Foley. There are 66 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One brother, John, Chilton, Wisconsin, also survives.
Friends may call at the Foley funeral home after 3 pm. Saturday where the body will remain. until the time of the funeral Monday at 9 a.m. at St. John's church in Foley with Rev. John A. Kroll, officiating, followed by services at 10:15 a.m at the St. Lawrence church in Duelm at which Rev. Henry Frank will officiate. Burial will be In the Duelm cemetery.
