FLU FOLLOWED BY DEATH
After a two weeks' illness with the flu, Mrs. Eliza Allen, South Walnut Street, yesterday suffered a stroke of apoplexy, and death came this afternoon at two o'clock. Mrs. Allen became unconscious at nine o'clock this morning and died surrounded by relatives this afternoon.
Mrs. Allen was born in Kentucky and came to this community about 50 years ago. She resided in Clear Creek for many years and moved to Bloomington some 12 years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church at Clear Creek and was a good, old-fashioned woman, deeply devoted to her loved ones and highly respected by all who knew her. She is survived by four children: James D. Allen, Edward Allen and Mrs. Charles Coyle of this city, and John O. Allen of Indianapolis. James D. and Edward Allen are employees of the
Monon. The funeral arrangements will be made as soon as John C. Allen arrives from Indianapolis.

SEARCH OF SON
MOTHER IS DEAD
The hope was to locate the son, John, before the mother, Mrs. Eliza Allen, was buried, but absent ten years, is yet without avail. The mother died at the home on South Walnut Street Wednesday and it was awaited for a time to try and locate him. He went away from home to work and the last time he was heard from he was in Indianapolis. He is aged about 40 (last digit difficult to read) and there is no reason to suppose that he is not alive.
The funeral is tomorrow at 2:30 at the Baptist Church in Ellettsville in charge of Rev. O. E. Allen and burial in the Methodist Cemetery.
