Cynthia Abascal (nee Hubbard), age 56 of Griffith, IN passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 30 years; daughter; son; Siblings 1 sister and 3 brothers; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary (nee Lucas) Hubbard; brother, Lawrence Hubbard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary’s Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, IN with Rev. Theodore J. Mens officiating. Private cremation to follow. Friends may meet with the family from 9:00 to 11:30 amg at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN on Monday morning.

Cindy was a strikingly beautiful wife and outrageously loving mother and decorator-extraordinaire whose artistry was exceeded only by her mean hoska-baking skills.
