Curtis Jessie Yarnell, 94, son of Franklin and Priscilla Stottlemyre Yarnall, was born March 18, 1913, at Dykes. He died Feb. 5, 2008, at Stockton Nursing Home at Stockton.

He married Zelda Hamrick April 7, 1934. Together they built and pastored several churches in Texas County including Fowler, Bethel Chapel, Fairview, Licking and Cabool.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 3, 2007; one son, Marvin Yarnell; his parents; and siblings, Leo, Duey, Alma, Cleo, Milford, Ralph, Clovis, Rea and Jim.

Surviving are four children, Ervin of Eudora, Kan., Gerald of Nixa, Robert of Rudy, Ark., and Lois Cunningham of Edgar Springs; one sister, Juanita of Lake of the Ozarks; a host of grand, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 10 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jett officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.
