Also, he fought in the Army in WWII, having enlisted and trained at Fort Bragg in Cumberland County, NC and later was discharged on Novemer 25, 1945. He was 5'6" and weighed 175 pounds, had gray eyes, red hair, and a ruddy complexion.
He was living in Macon County when he passed away in Andrews, Cherokee County, NC at the age of 77.
