Betty Kidd Daves Castle, age 88, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 14, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Chaplain Earl McAnally officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Castle was born May 4, 1927, in Birmingham, AL, to the late James Lawrence and Olga Marie Richter Kidd. She retired as a secretary and administrative assistant from Weyerhaeuser Company and was a member of the former Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Millard Atwell "Pap" Daves and William Marion "Bill" Castle, and son, William F. "Bubba" Daves.

Survivors include her son, Larry Daves and his wife Michele of Columbus, MS, brother, William E. "Billy" Kidd of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Eliska Dyson and her husband Shawn, and Atwell Daves and his wife Angela, great grandchildren, Lydia Dyson, Matthew Daves, and Lauren Daves, and nephew, Edward Kidd.

Pallbearers will be Atwell Daves, Shawn Dyson, Edward Kidd, Brent Dowdle, John Marshall Dowdle, Chris Herring, and Kevin Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be W. A. Caldwell, Phillip Caldwell, John Lambert, John Dyson, David Dyson, Terry Lile, Dr. James Woodward, Aubrey Nichols and the staff of Trinity Healthcare.
