Riley William Hogue was the son of Preacher Henry Jackson Hogue & wife Mary Matilda Brown Hogue
He married Lottie Rose Dills

Riley was a farmer and a logger. He and his wife, Lottie, raised their children just over the Macon County Line near Fairview in the township of Nantahala, Swain County. After his death, his wife moved to Haywood County, NC.
