BEATRICE SMITH HINKEL JOHNSON, 87, of Memphis, homemaker, died of complications from cancer Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. George's Episcopal Church-Germantown, where she was a member, with burial in Mt. Olivette Cemetery in Washington. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. She was also a member of Lydia Guild and past president of Suburban Garden Club. Mrs. Johnson, the widow of Edwin P. Hinkel and Zeake W. Johnson Jr., leaves three sisters, Lena S. Summers, Callie S. Hutton and Margaret S. Bence, all of Memphis, and five brothers, William C. Smith and Eulyse M. Smith, both of Memphis, Wade Smith of Jackson, Miss., Russell Smith of Madison, Ala., and Eugene Smith of Germantown. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. George's Episcopal Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
