Nina Eichholz, 88, of Glenns Ferry, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Life Care of Treasure Valley in Boise.
She was born in Kemmerer, Wyo., on Sept. 30, 1919. She grew up on a homestead in Hams Fork, Wyo. She helped her father and two of her brothers bring a herd of cattle to King Hill when she was 16. She graduated from King Hill High School in 1937.
Nina married George Eichholz on March 12, 1938, and they had five children.
She was involved in her community and was a devout member of the Episcopal Church.
During WWII she volunteered for the Red Cross and made bandages for the wounded soldiers. She joined the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW and remained active for many years. she was also a member of the Worthwhile Club.
Nina was a 4-H leader for several years. She joined Eastern Star where she held several offices, including Worthy Grand Matron.
Nina was a volunteer and employee of the Three Island Senior Citizens Center, until she became ill with Alzheimer's.
Nina is survived by: sisters Lucy Robertson of Gooding, and Alice Antilla of Kemmerer, Wyo.; a brother, Boyd Buck, of Arcata, Calif.; daughters Norma Flaherty of Howell, Mich., Loreen Greene of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Sandra Cranor of Glenns Ferry, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband George, daughter Audrey Elaine, son James Eichholz, grandson, James Carter, granddaughter Melody Williams, brothers Jack, Jim and Ted Buck, and sisters Molly Buck, Myra Tellaferro, Adella Nelson, Dorothy Miller and Margaret Ellis.
