Mrs. Joseph T. McCarthy - Died in Kansas City - Mrs. Inez May McCarthy, 48, former Ottawan who lived in Kansas City, died there early today in Research hospital from the effects of a goiter operation. Inez May Skeens was born at Garnett. She was mrried to Joseph T. McCarthy in July, 1922 at Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy had lived in Kansas City about 15 years. Surviving are the husband and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. John Buckner, Wellsville; Mrs. Lloyd Hawley, Salem, Ill.; William Skeens, Osawatomie; Lon and Cal Skeens, Paola and John Skeens, Grandview, Mo. The body was brought to McVey mortuary today. The funeral will be held in Ottawa at 2 p.m. Thursday." The Ottawa Herald, Ottawa, Kansas, Monday, June 26, 1944, page 3, column 5.
