Louise Edna Marie (Anderson) Hendrickson lived half of her life on a 160 acre farm located 1.5 miles north of Slifer, Iowa on the West side of the highway (3/4 mile SW of the Danish cemetery). The postal address was Callender, Iowa 50523. When Louise was 9 years old her father Andrew H. Anderson died in 1912, leaving her mother Emma (Gunderson) Anderson alone to raise Louise and her siblings on the farm. Ole Ose, a relative, moved to the farm and was a farm-hand for many years. Louise married
Haren Johannes (John) Hendrickson on May 6 1925 in the Fulton Lutheran Church Moorland, Iowa. Louise and Haren had 4 children: the oldest was Ronald Loyd (12/16/1926-9/6/1930) who died at the age of 3, Marilyn Joyce (b. 1/4/1929), Edward Leroy (b. 8/19/1931), and Warren Lee (9/30/1938 - 10/17/2001). A year after Haren passed away (10/22/1970), Louise moved to Rockwell City, Iowa were she lived 25 years in a quaint home at 527 Pleasant Street until the age of 92. Louise lived the last 5 years at Sunny Knoll Care Center in Rockwell City. Louise was a kind, hard working, caring, loving person; she never complained, loved to watch "Wheel of Fortune" every day, and was the best cook ever, especially lutefisk, lefsa, and cinnamon roles. We miss her dearly.
