Thelma Irene Liggin of Duncan, Oklahoma, formerly of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to James Monroe and Grace Josephine (McKinzey) Darnell on May 30, 1909 in Gracemont, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 28, 2006 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years. Thelma grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. On March 6, 1927, Thelma married Jasper Lee Liggin in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She worked as a receptionist at the Pauls Valley State School. Thelma was a member of the Church of Christ in Pauls Valley, Norman, and Shawnee. In her spare time, she loved playing games and enjoyed traveling. Thelma wanted to make a difference in others lives, especially younger people. The most important things she taught others about life were to be happy and accept whatever live deals you and deal with it. Mrs. Liggin is survived by; 1 son: Walter Lee Liggin and his wife Estalee of Duncan, Oklahoma 1 grandson: Gary Leigh Liggin and his wife Nancy 1 granddaughter-in-law: Nancy Jean Liggin 2 great-granddaughters: Kinzey Brook Liggin and Shelby Dawn Liggin Mrs.Liggin was preceded in death by; Her husband: Jasper Lee Liggin Her parents: James Monroe and Grace Darnell 4 brothers: Frank, Charles, Jack and Henry Darnell 4 sisters: Elta Milam, Beaula Nemath, Doris Bibb and Erma Cole 1 grandson: Larry Lee Liggin Funeral services for Mrs. Liggin are scheduled for Monday, October 2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mt.
