Joe. M. Funderburk, Retired Railway Postal Clerk, Dies
Joe M. Funderburk, 75, 144 Carrollton avenue, a resident of Shreveport for 38 years and a former railway postal clerk, died at a local hospital at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday after a long illness.
Mr. Funderburk was born April 30, 1876 in Bienville parish. He was with the railway postal service for 35 years, about 15 years of which was in Texarkana and the rest in Shreveport, where he began his service. Mr. Funderburk retired about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vina Baker Funderburk.
