Walter G. Bishop, age 78, of Fredericktown, died Friday October 7, 2005 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Walter was born December 7, 1926 in Columbus to Hoy and Gertrude (Grossman) Bishop and had maintained a farm north of Fredericktown most of his lifetime. He also had been employed at the former Harstine Implement Company in Fredericktown for 30 years and retired from the J.B. Foote Foundry in Fredericktown. He served with the United States Navy during World War Two. Walter was a hard working man whose passion in life was his family. He was devoted to his wife of 58 years and to his 4 children most especially his special needs daughter Sherry who preceded him in death on December 20, 2004 at the age of 47. Walter was a member of the Waterford Church of Christ where he had served as Deacon of the Church and Sunday School Secretary. He was a member of Wayne Grange and had served on the board of directors for the Fredericktown Emergency Medical Services.

Surviving are his wife Sylvia Aileen (Ebersole) Bishop whom he married March 8, 1947; his daughter Belinda (Raymond) Litt of Fredericktown; two sons Leland (Susan) Bishop of Milford, Ohio and David (Linda) Bishop of Fredericktown; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Bishop.
