Max DeWayne Parrett-Cox, age 41, of Etna-Troy Township, Columbia City, IN , died at 7:54 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Columbia City, Whitley County, IN on July 29, 1961 to Jerry Lee Parrett and Barbara G.(Cox) Parrett-Krill.
He attended Columbia City Joint High School and resided most of his entire lifetime in Whitley County. He was first employed by PTG in quality inspection, secondly he was a truck driver for Steve Reiff, Inc., South Whitley, IN and currently he worked at T.E. Inc., Fort Wayne, IN as a truck driver. His memberships included the Columbia City American Legion #98 and Eagles Lodge. He also served in the U.S. Army from February, 1981 to December, 1981.
He was united in marriage a few hours before his death in Fort Wayne, IN on July 31, 2002 to his long time companion, Roberta Kay Cody.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Kay Cody-Cox of Columbia City, IN and two daughters, Christy Kaye Cox and Nicolle Lynn Cox of Columbia City, IN; two step-sons, Jason A. Cody, South Whitley, IN and B.J. Cody, Columbia City, IN; his mother, Barbara Parrett-Krill of Columbia City, IN; two brothers, Gary L. (Ronelle) Parrett of Columbia City, IN and Bob B. Parrett of South Whitley, IN: 1 sister, Vicki Parrett-Noe of Onset, MA; a grandmother, Hazel Richey, Columbia City, IN and one step-granddaughter, Mataya Cody of Columbia City, IN.
His father, Jerry L. Parrett and a grandmother, Maggie Ray, preceded him in death.
