Beloved Aunt and Nursing Educator
Aug 26, 1907 - Feb 22, 2003 Preceded in death by parents, Dennis and Minnie Brennan; sister, Gladys; brother, Gordon; niece Jacqueline; nephew, Russell; and niece's spouse, Michael Pohlod. Survived by sister-in-law, Claire Herold Brennan of DePere, WI; and nieces, Joleen Duda, Bloomington, MN, Janice Brennan (Gene Trotter), Surprise, AZ, June Lasee, Green Bay, WI, Mary Hillary, Denver, CO; Kathleen Pohlod, Milladore, WI; nephew, Gerald (Cathy) Brennan, St. Paul, MN; and 13 grand nieces and nephews; and 7 great grand nieces and nephews. Florence graduated from the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1930, earned a B.S. degree in nursing education in 1937 and a M.A. degree in education in 1955 from the U. of MN. She was an associate professor at the U of MN Nursing School until her retirement in 1973. During her nursing career, she consulted in Guatemala, taught at the Yale School of Nursing and at the University of Connecticut. She traveled extensively assisting in curriculum development for nursing programs. Mass of Christian Burial THURS. 11AM at ST. BONAVENTURE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 901 E. 90th St., Bloomington. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Morrison, WI on Friday 2PM. Special thanks to the staff of The Episcopal Church Home for their loving care. Memorials preferred to the U of MN School of Nursing, The Episcopal Church Home or donor's choice. Arr.
