Anna Laura Wakelin, born May 3, 1918 in Brock Nebraska to the late Elmer and Mildred Wakelin, passed away from this earthly home into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on March11, 2016 at the age of 97.

She was a faithful member of Craft Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas where she loved so many friends.

She and her late husband, Leslie Snodgrass, grew up and graduated from Brock High School in Nebraska where they were involved in many activities. They farmed in Nebraska until her late husband Leslie went to work as a locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad and subsequently moved to the gulf coast area then to Jacksonville, Texas in 1946. They so enjoyed “Pecan Hill Orchard” farm south of Jacksonville where they met entertained and visited with so many friends, and raised all their family. They also enjoyed traveling for many years after Leslie retired from the railroad. Most of all she loved her Lord and was truly devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie of 52 years and her son Daniel Lee Snodgrass.

She is survived by her son Kenneth Snodgrass and wife Shirley of Rusk, son Marvin Snodgrass and wife Peggy of Flint, daughter Bonnie Goodwin and husband David of Elkhart, daughter Sheila Allen of Jacksonville and son Steve Snodgrass and wife Charlotte of Mt Selman. She is also survived by her brother Boyd Wakelin and wife Ruth Ann of Brock, NB as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren whom she loved so much.

The funeral service will be held at Craft Baptist Church, in Jacksonville at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 with pastor Davis Smith. There will be a brief visitation at the church 45 min prior to the service. Graveside service will be held at Jarratt Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to craft Baptist Church Building Fund.

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
