John Bray, Jr., age 92 of Albany, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 14th at Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Anthony Ceder officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 13th at Morehart Mortuary of Albany. John Wilson Bray, Jr. was born August 20, 1923 in Haskell County to parents John W. Bray, Sr. and Mary Shy Bray. John served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 before being honorably discharged. He then attended and graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU. John married Margie Sedwick Key on September 4, 1954 in Albany and they made their home there. John worked at First National Bank in Albany from 1946 until his retirement in 2003. During that time he served as the bank's Vice President and Executive Vice President. He was a life member of the Lions Club, member of Chamber of Commerce, and Elder and long time member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie Bray; brother, Bruce; sisters, Cecile and Ann; son in law, Dr. Martin True; and grandson, Blake Edward Key.Mr. Bray is survived by one daughter; Kay True of Dallas; one son, Joe E. Key and wife Christie of Dallas; five grandchildren, Anne Massey and husband Preston, John True and wife Cathy, Lorie Haas and husband Hunter, Rob Key and wife Kirby; Katherine Klutts and husband Clayton; and eleven great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church, 211 S. Jacobs St., Albany, TX 76430 and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
