GATE CITY, Va. — Clyde Hensley Ball, 85, entered into rest on Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2007) at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, Va. on Dec. 11, 1921 to the late Jess and Verdie Lawson Hensley.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Ball, 1993; daughter, Alice Fay Sanders, 2000; son, Jessie Wesley Ball, 2000; sisters, Ollie Lane, Mattie Dockery and Maude Dockery; brothers, Charlie Jim George and Homer Hens-She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and B.B. Quillen, Jr., Juanita and Garnie Williams, Betty and Mack Carrico, all of Gate City, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Mimia and Rufus Pierson, Kingsport; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Ball, Weber City, Va.; grandchildren, Scottie and Karen Williams, Mark Williams, Cindy Austin, Tracey and Cynthia Quillen, David Quillen, Michelle and Marty Hammonds, Adam and Dawn Sanders; great-grandchildren, Victoria (Tori) Gilbert, Bradon Hammonds, Nathaniel and Patrick Quillen, Channing Austin, Samuel and Kristin Williams, Alyssia and Logan Sanders. Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gate City Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of a daughter, Joann Quillen.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Walker Darnell officiating.
Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. The family will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandson, Mark Williams, Scottie Williams, Tracey Quillen, David Quillen, Adam Sanders and Nathaniel Quillen.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Ball family.
