Victor E. Meyer 79 of Hebron, NE. passed away March 10, 2016. He was born July 21, 1936 at Hebron, NE. to David & Pauline (Wiegert) Meyer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors are Sister: Loretta Mohling, Brother: Louis Meyer, Nieces & Nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating.
Burial at Grace Lutheran Cemetery – Gladstone, NE. Memorials to the Grace Lutheran Church. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Victor was the youngest of four children born to Pauline Elizabeth Marie (Wiegert) and David Ernest Meyer, at their family farm in Thayer County, Gilead pct. He attended school through the 8th grade at the Trinity Lutheran Church parochial school, and then went to Fairbury where he graduated from the Fairbury High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Thayer County, near his home.

He entered the military and served in the US Army, stationed in Japan.

Upon returning home, he and his brother Alvin took over the family farm, where both lived until their deaths. Alvin, who was 6 years older than Victor, died suddenly at the age of 65 of a massive heart attack at his home. Victor's death was equally sudden, at the age of 79, also at his home. He never married.

Besides his brother Alvin, Vic was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his brother Louis and sister Loretta Mohling, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by all.
