"Fritz" is the son of Frank and Etta Thams Barber. He was raised in Greshem, where he graduated from Gresham High School. Fritz moved with his family in August 1939 to Carpinteria, CA, where he worked at the lemon packing house until joining the Army. He served in the Philipines in WW II, where he was wounded in the battle of Manila. He marrid Maria Alicia Hernandez in Santa Barbara, CA on 18
Sept 1949 at the Old Mission. They lived in Santa Barbara and he worked for the City of Santa Barbara. There were no children.
