Linda Charleen Dawson, age 71 of Newalla, Oklahoma passed away March 9, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on June 1, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lester B. and Pearl (Henning) Mings.

Linda had lived in the Newalla area for the past 38 years. She was married to Rick Dawson for 31 years. Linda enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, Facebook and the computer.

Survivors include her husband Rick of the home; children, Charles Slover and wife Colleen of Bristow and Angela McBane of Guthrie, Debbie Gentry of Baltimore, MD and John Dawson of Enid; siblings, J.E. Mings of Houston, TX, Mary Ellen Frair of Ada and Doreen Henry of Seminole. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 1 grandchild and 2 sons-in-law, Mike McBane and Roy Gentry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel in Guthrie. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
