MACIE DELLA JONES, age 91 of Wilmington, passed away on March 9, 2016 at Christiana Hospital. She was born in Northfork, West Virginia, daughter of the late Shaheem and Thursa Ramsey Hammed. Macie retired from DuPont in 1992 after 40 years of service as a research assistant. After retirement, she enjoyed sharing her life with family and friends and giving to others.
Macie is survived by her sons, Roy (Nancy), Bobby, and Ron (Traci); her grandchildren, Heather Michel (Frank), Meredith Perrine (Dave), Nichole Pressley (Bill), Tricia Ryan (Craig), Leah, Ashli and Joshua (Brandy) Denhoed; her great-grandchildren, Stefan, Eric, Zoe, Juliana, Blane, Landon, Jaylen, Ryder, Gage and Jordan; her sister, Phyllis "Billie" Correll; and her sisters-in-law, Sue, Mary, and Janet Hammed.
In addition to her parents, Macie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Jones, Sr., and her dear grandson, Ronnie.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00p.m. Interment will take place the following day at Silverbrook Cemetery.
