Jane E. (Gartner) Daughetee, 67 of Dubuque, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics with her devoted husband, children, and twin sister by her side.

Jane was born January 29, 1949 in Dubuque, the daughter of Louis A. and Clara M. (Schueller) Gartner.

She attended Holy Ghost grade school and graduated from Wahlert High School in 1967.

Jane married Larry A. Daughetee on September 2, 1967 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and together they had 3 children.

Once their children reached school-age, she joined the Dubuque Community Schools Food Service program until 2008, when she retired with 30 years of service.

A lifelong member of Holy Ghost Parish, Jane had a strong faith and shared it with her family, always wanting to give of herself and not wanting for anything.

Jane loved to cook, and spend time with her family. She shared a special bond with her twin sister, Joyce.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in-law, Lyle and Ruth Daughetee; siblings, Eileen (Herb) Lukas and Don Gartner; in-laws, Lyle Daughetee, JoAnn (Elmer) Pickel, Luella (LaVerne) Pickel, and Vince Troy.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost. Family will greet friends 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd, with a 6:00 pm Scripture Service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers who cared for Jane during her illness, especially the Bone Marrow Transplant Team at U of I Hospital & Clinics.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jane's memory.
