Great Falls—Marlene Fern Franklin, 81, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at Peace Hospice of natural causes. Cremation has taken place under the care of Croxford Funeral Home. A Graveside service is planned for this Friday, January 29th at 1:00 pm at Highland Cemetery.

Born July 1, 1934 in Great Falls, MT to Melvin and Vivian Campbell, Marlene grew up in Fort Shaw. She married Bill LaBelle, and although this union ended in divorce, they were blessed with three loving children. Marlene was lucky enough to find the love of her life, Douglas B. Franklin, whom she married in 1972. They spent many wonderful years camping and fishing at Holter Lake, and remained together until his untimely death in 1991.

Marlene enjoyed beautiful flowers, playing bingo, spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and of course, her beloved little dog Misty.

She is survived by her son; daughter; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Those who have preceded her in death include her beloved husband, Douglas B. Franklin; daughter, Cindy LaBelle-Hawkins.
