She was born Judith Ann Logeland, in Ottawa, the daughter of Allen O. and Virginia D. (Hill) Logeland.
'Judy' grew up in Joliet where she met, and later, married John E. Lane, December 3, 1953. In addition to Karen S. Lane (Moats) and Allen R. Lane (Moats), 'Jack' and Judy had 3 children, Deborah A. 'Debbie', Kathleen Y. 'Kathie' and John E. 'Jack' Lane, Jr.
Judy enjoyed raising a family, her poodles, travelling, yard work, numerous part-time jobs and volunteering to local organizations. Judy volunteered at St. Joe's Hospital for several years and also, Joliet PADS, Meals on Wheels, Joliet Area Community Hospice, Senior Services and the Rialto Square Theatre.
Surviving are her daughters; Karen and her husband, Owen Parker of Hanover Park, Debbie of Joliet, Kathie and her husband Al Dugas of Conroe, Texas and her son; John, Jr. of Channahon; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jody Meyers of Joliet; as well as several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, and her son, Allen. Also, her loving half-brother, Edward 'Eddie' T. Meyers, Jr., as well as her step-father, Edward 'Ed' T. Meyers, Sr.
At Judy's wishes, a Funeral Service were held at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. She will rest in peace at Woodlawn Cemetery Joliet next to her husband, mother and step-father. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice, Joliet, Illinois. Visitation 11:00-11:30 a.m.
