Cora Kinder Capps, resident of Sterling House, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was 90. She was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Evansville, Ark., the daughter of Charley Otho and Edner (Gassaway) Jenkins. She was married to Lara Charley Kinder on Dec. 19, 1925, in the Atlantic Field oil camp near Pawhuska. During world War II, she was employed at the Pawhuska Tent Factory and after the war for the Pawhuska Manufacturing Company. She later retired as cook from Lynn Elementary School in Pawhuska. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Pawhuska Home Demonstration Club and had volunteered at the Osage County Fair for many years. Mr. Kinder preceded her in death in September 1968. She was married to Roy Capps on May 11, 1980, in Pawhuska, and the couple made their home in Bartlesville. After the death of Mr. Capps in June 1986, she moved to Ponca City. While living in Ponca City she was a member of the Pioneer Doll Club. --EXCERPTED from the Ponca City News, Monday, Feb. 9, 1998
