William Clyde Beck, 89, of Sylva's Buff Creek community, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Harris Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Morris officiated. Burial was in Addie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenny Schuler, Jim Beasley, Carroll Henson, Jim Shuler, Bill Shuler and George Brown.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree of Mead Corp. He was a son of the late Clark and Lina Parris Beck.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Beck.
Surviving is his wife, Julia Buchanan Beck.
