Family lived in Waterville, OH in 1850 census. This headstone was replaced in 8/2005. The following was from: Record of The Soldier Spirit of Waterville, 1899. Was a native of Northern New York, and spent some of his early life about the St. Lawrence river; came with his family to Waterville at an early day. He was a member of the NY State Militia in the war of 1812-14, and served in Captain Abram Matteson's Company, of Davis' First Regiment New York Militia, and he drew pay for three months and five days, being from Dec 21, 1813, to March 25th, 1814. He died at his home at Waterville and was buried in the Waterville cemetery.
