Faith "Carol" Dikas Dec. 25, 1922 ~ Nov. 04, 2009 age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Born and raised in Eureka, CA, Carol graduated from Humboldt State University and embarked on a long, fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher. After an initial assignment in Bakersfield, CA, she settled on the SF Peninsula with her husband, Art Dikas, where she became a vocal advocate for teachers' rights. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose care and determination had a profound impact on the lives of her family and friends. She loved to sing and write limericks and graciously accepted the role of "baseball wife." Her generosity remained steadfast in both good times and bad. Carol will be greatly missed by her husband of 62 years Art, son Mike, daughter Elaine, her four grandchildren, Allison, Victoria, Nick, and Christina, and her extended family. Her role as designated worrier for the family will never be replaced. Thanks and kudos to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco, The Magnolia in Millbrae, and to Carol's special friends who eased the stress of her final journey. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Monday, November 9th, beginning with a viewing at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Dr. at El Camino Real in Millbrae at 930AM, followed by a memorial Mass at St. Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway in Millbrae at 11AM, and a reception at The Magnolia of Millbrae at 1230 PM. Donations may be made in her name to your favorite charity.
